Got Ants ? Then
you need :
ANT KILLER – INSECTIGONE is literally a miracle in a bottle. Diatomaceous earth also known as diatomite
is a naturally occurring, soft, siliceous sedimentary rock that is easily crumbled into a fine white to off-white powder.
This powder has an abrasive feel, similar to pumice powder, and is very light, due to its high porosity.
Diatomite is also used as an insecticide, due to its physico-sorptive properties. The fine powder absorbs lipids
from the waxy outer layer of insects' exoskeletons, causing them to dehydrate. Arthropods die as a result of
the water pressure deficiency. Give it a try… it works like no other in it’s class. NOW $9.49 for 200g

CHINCH:

· Are there eggs, nymphs or adult chinch crawling around your lawn?
· Are there large patches of dead, brown spots?
Chinch bugs have piercing mouth parts.
They suck the sap from the crown and stems of turfgrass plants. T
These dead areas are brown, irregular, sunken patches,
which can coalesce into larger dead areas.
Chinch bugs thrive in hot, dry weather. Sunny areas are usually the most affected. This insect is quite small - the adults are 4 mm in length.
The immature nymphs are bright red in colour when they first hatch, and begin to darken from brick red to grey/brown when they are nearly mature.
The immature nymphs have a characteristic white band across their abdomen, which is eventually covered by the enlarging wings as the insects
become larger and mature.
GRUBS:

· Can you roll the lawn back like a carpet?
· Are there any little ‘C’- shaped worms under your grass?
White grubs are larval or immature stages of beetles and the two major problem species are Japanese and masked chafer beetles.
Both beetles fly and lay eggs mostly in June and July. The eggs hatch by early August and the larvae (white grubs) begin feeding
just below the soil surface on the roots of grasses. Most of the feeding damage occurs from late August to mid-October in your area.
A damaged root system means reduced ability of grasses to take up water. If the root damage is severe, the grass will turn brown and die.
It is normal to find one to five white grubs per square foot. When the weather is cooler and soil moisture is good,
20 or more grubs per square foot may be necessary to cause damage. Unless birds have already stolen the grubs, the C-shaped white grubs,
from 1/4 to 3/4 inches long, will be obvious on the soil surface and the soil will be very loose.
Chinch bug can be treated immediately by one of our lawn care professionals.
Grubs are not showing damage yet and can be treated naturally in the fall with nematodes.
